Inadvertent Ecstasy – Asayama Group
The “Asayama Group”, born in Shangqiu, China in 2018, is an art collective composed of the following main members: Li Feng (mentor), Zhai Zhicheng, Zhang Shuo, Li Hanran, and Shi Jian.
The “Asayama Group” is a five-member art collective led by artist Li Feng. Each member has a distinct artistic language, yet they are connected by a common essence. In the midst of a chaotic and bewildering social context, they adhere to the constant cultivation of the original ideals of art. Within their individual artistic systems, they seek to find spiritual landscapes and conceptual attitudes that resonate with this era.
Compared to the non-central region of contemporary Chinese art, artist Li Feng has been continuously engaged in art exploration in Shangqiu, China for many years. He has also established a five-member art group called “Asayama Group.” As the mentor of the “Asayama Group,” Li Feng exemplifies a mature artist who provides mutual guidance and assistance to young artists in their spiritual and creative pursuits. This indirectly reflects his deep concern for young artists. In other words, the “Asayama Group” is not just an art group led by Li Feng; it also represents his genuine sense of artistic mission and responsibility in the context of the current era.
